About Rubies & Pearls
After I married, had children, and became a stay-at-home mom, I decided to pursue event planning full time, not just as a hobby. I started working as a wedding and event planner while taking the home studies program through Wedding Beautiful Worldwide.
My passion flourished and soon I decided to launch my own business. This meant I was faced with the interesting challenge of deciding on a name for my business. Many names came to mind but Rubies & Pearls seemed to be the perfect fit. This name exuded elegance and the family significance was too deep-rooted to ignore -- for, you see, four generations ago Pearl Holland taught the rules of etiquette and professionalism, which is the base of our business, to her daughter Ruby Walden.
I take pride in being named Pearl after my grandmother, and today, my daughter Ruby Thomas and I, work passionately to make sure every dream becomes a reality and every occasion is one to remember.

The Story of Rubies & Pearls...
I have always enjoyed entertaining. Whenever there was an opportunity to be surrounded by loved ones... at any time, in any season, for any reason ... it was a special occasion for me. I could turn a simple dinner into a fun-filled evening, given the opportunity. My passion did not go unrecognized. Soon, I was being called upon to coordinate parties and other events for family and friends.
